Phase I of the Mary Street reconstruction project is officially underway. Mary Street is now closed between Ferry Street and Bennink Lane, and will remain so for much of the summer.
Crews are working on major infrastructure upgrades including sanitary sewer improvements, a new water main, a road widening to include a turn lane, and a new sidewalk. The work is scheduled to wrap up before the school year begins in August.
After this phase is complete, reconstruction will continue westward in phases until reaching Shaul Avenue. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes and avoid the area during construction.
