A Knoxville man and former police officer is facing serious charges after investigators say he secretly recorded his wife for months without her knowledge.
Kyle Regan Keller, 42, has been charged with stalking and unlawfully intercepting communications. According to court documents, the allegations stem from incidents that took place between October and December of 2024. Investigators say Keller hid wireless recording devices in his wife’s vehicle and inside her home, including the master bedroom, in order to monitor her conversations and movements. Some of the devices were found under the driver’s seat of her vehicle.
The investigation also found that Keller saved and organized the recordings on his devices and kept a detailed log of his observations. Authorities believe this pattern of surveillance went on for several months.
An arrest warrant was served by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office on June 26. Keller was released after posting a $15,000 bond, and a no-contact order has been issued. His next court appearance is set for July 3 at 9 a.m.
Keller is a former Knoxville police officer who had not been with the department for nearly two years. Due to a possible conflict of interest, the case has been handed over to the Iowa Attorney General’s Office for prosecution.
As always, it’s important to remember that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
