At Arnolds Park Amusement Park, The Legend roller coaster has long been a fan favorite — but for one couple, it’s become a summer-long mission.

Tom and Margaret Wuggazer have turned their retirement into a thrill-seeking tradition. Every morning during the summer season, they arrive bright and early at the park gates, ready to start their day the same way they always do: with a ride on The Legend. It’s their favorite coaster, and it’s not just about the ride — it’s about the community, the energy, and the joy it brings.

The couple has become a familiar sight around the park, waving to employees and regulars as they make their way to the coaster. They’ve built a routine around it, and over the years, they’ve gained a bit of a fan base of their own. Last summer, they logged an incredible 1,500 rides. This summer, they’ve set a new goal: 2,000 rides before the season ends.

To hit that number, they’ve been ramping up their daily ride count. What started as 10 rides a day has grown to 15, and now they’re aiming for 20 rides every single day. As of now, they’ve already crossed the 600-ride mark this season — well on their way to making history once again.

Tom and Margaret’s story is just one example of what makes Arnolds Park so special. The amusement park brings together visitors of all ages, from kids experiencing their first roller coaster to retirees chasing one more thrill. With its mix of nostalgia, excitement, and community, Arnolds Park continues to be a place where lifelong memories are made — and where legends are born.
