Becky Jo Jones, 73, of Drakesville, Iowa, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on June 2, 2025, in Fairfield, Iowa. She was born November 11, 1951, in Bloomfield, Iowa, to Lyle Dean and Freda Maxine Speer Stufflebeam. She grew up enjoying barefoot summers with their loving neighbors on Elm Street. Becky graduated from Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, Iowa, in 1970 where she especially enjoyed working on the school yearbook.
Becky married the love of her life Randy LaVern Jones on July 8, 1972, at the Bloomfield Christian Church. The two took pleasure in countless dance classes and card clubs with friends and family. Becky worked in the chart room at the Gilfillian Clinic for many years. She resigned her position to raise her two daughters, Keelie and Dia, who became accustomed to being greeted off the school bus with Becky’s delicious baked goodies, including her famous chocolate chip cookies. Later, she took great pride in cleaning houses for countless people in Davis County. She always had a waiting list.
She loved spending time with her family and friends. Some of her favorite activities included loving and spoiling her grandchildren, attending and co-hosting wine tastings where she met winemakers from all over the world, sharing the open road with her bicycling crew, boating with the Jones families, going for drives in the country to see all the wildlife, and ending the day with Randy. She was most often found on her deck swinging with her dog, Jazz, listening to the birds and entertaining friends. She was a life-long member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Drakesville United Methodist Church.
Becky will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Randy; two daughters, Keelie (Luke) Haner of Elkhorn, Neb., Dia (Brian) Bird of Ankeny, Iowa; and her grandchildren, Allyson and Jacob Haner.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diana Mathews; brother, Gary Stufflebeam; father-in-law, Elmer Ray Jones; and mother-in-law, Betty Jones.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Thom Bryant officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with the family present to greet friends from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Friends of the Bloomfield Library in Becky’s name.
