Born Colby Daniel Lopez in Davenport, Iowa, Seth Rollins has become one of WWE’s most decorated and influential superstars. A 2004 graduate of Davenport West High School, Lopez grew up on Iowa’s eastern border, embracing a straight edge lifestyle and immersing himself in the local hardcore and heavy metal music scenes.

Rollins began his wrestling journey on the Iowa independent circuit under the name Gixx before joining Ian Rotten’s Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South. His talent quickly gained attention as he competed across various promotions, including IWA, NWA Midwest, TNA, Full Impact Pro (FIP), and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG). Adopting the ring name Tyler Black, he rose to national prominence in Ring of Honor (ROH), capturing both the ROH World Championship and the Tag Team Championship.

In 2010, Lopez signed with WWE and transitioned to its developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), eventually rebranding as Seth Rollins. He made his WWE main roster debut in 2012 as part of The Shield, alongside Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. The trio quickly made an impact, with Rollins and Reigns winning the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship.

Rollins’ solo career soared, earning him multiple accolades, including:

  • 2-time WWE Champion
  • 2-time WWE Universal Champion
  • 1-time World Heavyweight Champion
  • 2-time Intercontinental Champion
  • 2-time United States Champion
  • 6-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion

These accomplishments make Rollins the 29th WWE Triple Crown Champion and 19th Grand Slam Champion, notably the second wrestler to achieve the Grand Slam twice under WWE’s revised 2015 format.

From his roots in Iowa to the global stage, Seth Rollins continues to build a dominant and enduring legacy in professional wrestling.
