Shirley Joyce Bleything, 64, of Knoxville, formerly of Ottumwa, died at 5:43 a.m. May 7, 2025 at her home.
She was born March 13, 1961 in Ottumwa to Dean Edward and Rose Johnson Bleything.
Growing up in Ottumwa, Shirley worked as a CNA at various facilities including Sunnyslope Care Center and Ridgewood Care Center. She also worked as a traveling CNA for several years.
Shirley enjoyed going to the casinos and spending time with her family.
Surviving is her daughter, Shawnna (Travis) Reinier of Moulton; 3 grandchildren, Amisha, Travis and Dalton; 3 great-grandchildren, Dayton, Bentley and Brantson; 3 sisters, Pat, Connie and Mary; and 2 brothers, Dean and Rick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Cody Copple; 2 sisters, Sharon and Tina; 4 brothers, Larry, Terry, John and Gary; and her companion, Gregg Copple.
Her body has been cremated and no services are planned. Private inurnment will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
