Communities like Bennington, Manley, Randolph, and Essex are waking up to devastation. Homes were torn apart. Power lines were ripped down. Families huddled in basements as tornado sirens wailed across the plains.
Shortly after 7 p.m., sirens blared in Omaha, warning of an incoming tornado that had touched down just north of the city. At Eppley Airfield, travelers were rushed into shelter for nearly 15 minutes as winds howled outside. Nearby, in Bennington and Elkhorn, sirens sent families scrambling for safety.
