Residents and commuters in Marion County should prepare for traffic delays today as a large house will be transported through the area. The move, which begins at approximately 9:00 a.m., is expected to take several hours as the house makes its way south towards Albia.

The route begins on Jefferson Street in Pella, where the house will travel south on Main Street to Oskaloosa Street before exiting Pella on South Clark Street. From there, it will continue south on T-17, making its way through Marion County via G-46, T-15, Old Highway 92, back to T-17, and then onto Highway 5 toward Albia.

Motorists should anticipate traffic disruptions and possible detours along this route throughout the day. Additionally, parking on Main Street from Liberty to Washington Street will be affected, with the east side of the street closed to parking from 6:00 a.m. until the house has passed.

Authorities advise drivers to plan for extra travel time and use alternate routes when possible. Those living or working along the transport route should be aware of potential delays and exercise caution while driving near the moving structure.
