A rollover accident claimed the life of a southeast Iowa teenager Thursday afternoon in Washington County.
At 4:10 PM, the Iowa State Patrol says a 2004 Saturn Ion driven by 18-year-old Alaina McNurlen of Keota was traveling northbound on Highway 1. The accident report states the vehicle crossed the center line into the southbound lane, swerved back into the northbound lane, overcorrected, crossed the center line again, and entered a ditch on the southbound side.
The Saturn rolled, and officials say McNurlen was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
