Gordon Bittle, aged 74, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025. Born on April 26, 1950, Gordon was a man who found joy in the simplicity of life and shared that joy generously with those around him. He was a dedicated truck driver for many years. Known for his love of animals, Gordon was often seen taking a ride on his golf cart with his faithful companion, his dog Jack. He derived much pleasure from watching his friend Allen train horses, often feeding them peppermints, a gesture that was much loved by both Gordon and the horses. His kindness and warm spirit extended to the humans in his life as well.
His appreciation for the hospice girls at Care Initiatives was well-known, and his fondness for them reflected the deep respect he had for their dedication and hard work.
Gordon is survived by his daughter, Traci; friends, Allen and Kim Jones; three half sisters, and cousin, Joanna McNeese.
Gordon has been cremated with no planned services. Sinnott Funeral Home of Ottumwa, serving all of southern Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
