Philip Gregory Weeks, 75, of Ottumwa, died January 12, 2025 at his home.
Phil was born July 12, 1949 in Ottumwa. In his youth, he enjoyed playing baseball and played on the Legion Baseball Team. A 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School, he worked 41 years at John Deere Ottumwa Works.
Phil loved baseball; having coached his daughter’s YWCA girls softball teams and playing on a men’s slow-pitch softball team. In his retirement, he enjoyed golfing twice a week, bowling and following the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Surviving is his wife, Cheryl; their two daughters, Shelley (Rick) Wood and Stacy R. Weeks both of Ottumwa; three grandsons whom he was very proud, Jake (Sally) Wood, Chase (Nicole) Wood and Mitch Wood; four great grandchildren, Mia, Renee, Maddox and one on the way; two sisters, Gay (Bob) Hildebrand of South Jordan, UT and Cathy Bolin Carder of Ottumwa.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Lou Bolin and a son, Jason Daniel Weeks.
His body has been cremated. Visitation with his family present to greet friends will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, January 17th at Reece Funeral Home.
