A company announced a recent donation to a local nonprofit.
UScellular provided a $5,000 equipment donation to the Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse.
The Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse provides children with the opportunity to express themselves through acting and theater. By offering inclusive and creative spaces for young performers, the playhouse nurtures artistic talent, builds confidence and fosters collaboration.
UScellular donated production and creative equipment, such as a professional Canon camera kit to capture performances, an iPad for sound management during productions and a Cricut Maker 3 to assist with costume designs and set pieces.
In addition, the Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse benefited from useful tools and supplies, such as high-quality makeup sets for costuming, tables, chairs and caster wheels for set design and logistics, as well as storage solutions to keep things organized. The donation also included important practical items, such as drill and screwdriver sets for maintenance and setup, as well as gift cards for craft and home improvement supplies.
As part of UScellular’s Gift of Connection program, the Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse’s donation is among 50 gifts to nonprofits across the country. The company will help organizations by providing needed supplies in gratitude for their dedication to building connection through art, music and sports in their local communities.
“This donation will have a significant impact on the Ottumwa Community Children’s Playhouse’s ability to produce high-quality performances and support the growing interest in children’s programming,” said Joshua Olbricht, UScellular’s director of sales in east Iowa. “Giving back is a part of UScellular’s commitment to connect people to what matters most, and we’re honored to give the Gift of Connection this holiday season.”
UScellular also invites community members to participate in the Gift of Connection through a donation drive at select UScellular retail locations. Everyone is encouraged to donate new sports equipment, art supplies or family board games that will be gifted to a local nonprofit.
