Sherry Lynn Chidester Greenfield, 78, of Ottumwa died December 14, 2024 at Hospice House in Ottumwa.
She was born February 17, 1946 in Ottumwa to Wesley and Ileen Albright Chidester. She married Ron Mason in 1964 where they had 3 children together and later divorced. She married Dennis Greenfield on May 2, 1994 where they were married, spending every day together for 30 wonderful years.
A 1964 graduate of Ottumwa High school, Sherry attended the Iowa School of Beauty and attended Indian Hills Community College where she earned a degree in Machine Technology. She worked at John Deere Ottumwa Works, Rockwell in Fairfield and last worked for Pella Corps.
Sherry attended Open Bible Church in Bloomfield and had previously been a member Trinity Church of the Nazarene and the Boot Scooters. She loved flowers, making her yard look nice and most of all, spending time with her family and going to the Lake of the Ozarks.
Surviving is her husband, Dennis Greenfield of Ottumwa; a sister, Stephanie Samuelson (Dave Jones) of West Des Moines; her children, Lorie (Ron) Baker of Ottumwa, Jon (Karin) Mason of Fairfield, Scott Mason of Kansas City, MO, Randy (Robin) Greenfield, Robert (Amy) Greenfield, and Cody (Kayleigh) Greenfield, all of Pueblo, CO; grandchildren, Austin (Ashley) Drummond, Tina (Kyle) Shilling, Leah (Adam) Sampson, Tyler Baker, Heather and Hunter Mason, Keeton Fleener, Haley, Tyler, Faith and Emma Greenfield and Tyson Muniz; and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Visitation will open at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19th at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 20th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Courtney officiating. Burial will be Memorial Lawn Cemetery
