Fire crews from the Ottumwa Fire Department responded to an Ottumwa home that was on fire for the second time this year.
The City of Ottumwa says the fire department received a call just before noon on Sunday regarding a structure fire on 220 West Fifth Street.
Officials say smoke and flames were coming out of the building when personnel arrived. This past June, a fire struck the same house and was tagged by Building and Code Enforcement since that incident. After the fire was out, the area was taped off and doors were secured to keep people from reentering.
According to the city, the fire department will work with Building and Code Enforcement on a plan to address safety concerns until the structure can be permanently repaired. No injuries were reported, and the fire remains under investigation.
