Ottumwa Man Charged with a Felony after Allegedly Stealing Minibike

An Ottumwa man is accused of stealing a minibike and hiding it from investigating officers.

35-year-old Joshua Taylor has been charged with second-degree theft, a Class D felony.

On September 13th, court records say officers from the Ottumwa Police Department observed Taylor operating a minibike that was reported stolen the previous day. Taylor tried to conceal the bike when he saw officers.

According to court documents, Taylor admitted to possessing the stolen minibike which he used as his mode of transportation.

A warrant for Taylor’s arrest was issued on September 16 and he was taken into custody on September 23.

Taylor is currently in the Wapello County Jail. His bond has been set at $5,000.
