A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for an alleged threat against Centerville High School.
Chief Tom Demry of the Centerville Police Department says the arrest was the result of an investigation into the threat reported on Tuesday. The juvenile has been charged with threat of terrorism, a Class D felony.
Staff and administration from the Centerville Community School District assisted in the investigation. Demry says his department also received tips from the public and the Safe and Sound Iowa website.
The cumulative information allowed police to confirm the identity of the suspect and corroborate evidence that was gathered according to Demry.
Demry mentioned another student whose name was written with the threat was not responsible for writing it.
