Virginia Ruth Robison, 96, of Fairfield, formerly of Milton departed this life on Sunday August 11, 2024 at the Parkview Nursing Home in Fairfield.  As per her wishes her body has been cremated.  A memorial service will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday August 20, 2024 at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church with Pastor Mary Kathryn Hart officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00AM to 11:00AM an hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial of cremains will be at a later date at Sunnyside Cemetery in Milton.  Gifts in Virginia’s honor to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 20096 Hawk Drive, Keosauqua, IA 52565.  Friends may leave condolences online awww.cranstonfamilyfuneralhome.com.

Virginia Ruth Robison was born to George Elmer (Pop) and Elsie Pool Turner on July 14, 1928 in Van Buren County. Virginia graduated from Bonaparte High School in 1946. She married Wayne E. Robison on February 18, 1951 in Ottumwa, IA. To them a son, Danny Lynn Robison, was born.

 Virginia was a homemaker and ran errands for her husband when farming.  She loved to work outdoors, gardening, attending flowers, picking blackberries, and walking.

 When Wayne had a lung removed, Virginia went to work for 3 years as an aid at Van Buren County Hospital. She later worked at the Bonaparte Glove Factory for 5 years and 18 years at the Barker Wire Co. before retiring.

 Virginia, and her son, Danny, were volunteers at the Milton Library and the local bloodmobile for many years. She cleaned houses for elderly friends and chauffeured many around. She was a member of the Milton Methodist Church until it closed and then she joined the Keosauqua Methodist Church.

 Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers and their wives, Elmer & Mary, Gereld & Josephine, Merrill & Shirley, and John & Lou Ann Turner, and her sisters and their husbands, Ethel & George Coleman, Carroll & Glendon Lannom, Marie & Charlie Grimson.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews. One very special niece, Twila Westercamp who has been like a daughter to her.
