An Ottumwa man is behind bars after allegedly sexually abusing a female juvenile.
29-year-old John Bennett was charged with three counts of sex abuse in the 2nd degree, a class B felony.
On March 23 and March 24, court records say the victim was at Bennett’s residence. According to authorities, Bennett performed sex acts on the victim various times. According to court records, the victim was 13-years-old at the time of the illegal acts.
Bennett was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
