Iowa Job Corp celebrates its 60th year anniversary in Ottumwa.
Chris Northcutt, Career Development Director, Ottumwa Job Corp, talks about the program and the upcoming event.
The event will be on August 27 starting at 8:30 a.m. It will be held on the Ottumwa Job Corp campus at 15229 Truman Street.
Northcutt says students travel from all over the state of Iowa for opportunities. He says Iowa Job Corp has made an impact throughout other states.
“There’s over 3 million students that have gone through Job Corp and received training since its beginning in 1964. Its been a very impactful and successful program throughout its history and its cool to be celebrating it.” Chris Northcutt, Career Development Director, Ottumwa Job Corp
Northcutt talks about events during the celebration.
“At 8:30 a.m. we will start with a breakfast and have a time for networking and socializing. Students will be demonstrating their learning and the public will have the opportunity to interact and share experiences.” Chris Northcutt, Career Development Director, Ottumwa Job Corp
Northcutt continued.
“There will be a ceremony to recognize business partners and acknowledge the community members involvement. We will also have a ribbon cutting by the major and a career fair.” Chris Northcutt, Career Development Director, Ottumwa Job Corp
