LaVina Margaret Dailey, age 77 of Monroe and formerly of Newton, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at her home. A celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. Burial will be held at Wittenberg Cemetery at a later date. The daughter of Glenn Everett and Pearl (Wilcox) Miller, LaVina was born on July 22, 1947 in Newton, Iowa. She attended Newton Senior High School and in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She then went to Western Iowa Tech where she studied nursing and graduated in 1982. On June 24, 1971, she was united in marriage to Laurence L. Dailey in Newton. Lavina enjoyed working on puzzles, going to garage sales, crocheting granny squares, playing bingo and going to casinos and the St. Louis Cardinals. Vacations with her and Larry were always an adventure with no destination in mind. They would simply get in the car, pick a direction and off they went.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Deana (Jerry) Clark, Mark (Avie) Cupples, Glenn Cupples, Larry (Kara Peters) Dailey and Tony (Amy) Dailey; 18 grandchildren, Melissa, Eric, Randi, Austin, Ashley, Jennifer, Arizona, Gavei, Brittany, Nicole, Kristi, T.J., Jordan, Devin, Kodi, Caleb, Walter and Daniel and 12 great grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Larry and a stillborn grandchild.
