Jeffrey Wayne Johns, 40, of Ottumwa, died July 30, 2024.
He was born May 7, 1984 in Ottumwa to Paul James Johns II and Kimberly Sue Morrow Johns. He married Jennifer Louise Haag July 14, 2007.
A 2002 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Jeff had worked on the clean-up crew at JBS, at Dexter in Fairfield and in construction.
He enjoyed spending time in nature, fishing, searching for deer, hunting mushrooms and anything outdoors. He also enjoyed playing pool, spending time with his daughter and his dog.
Surviving is his daughter, Olivia Johns; her siblings, Kylie Norman, Ricky Monohon and Lilah Norman; Jennifer’s son, Riley Kurn; Jeff’s girlfriend, Summer Albert; Jeff’s mother, Sue Johns of Ottumwa; a sister, Jamie Johns of Moravia; two nephews, Levi Davis and Taylor (Chassidy) Davis; his grandmother, Dorothy Johns of Ottumwa; along with several uncles, aunts and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Johns II; his grandparents, Paul Johns, Max Morrow, Eva Mae Morrow and Lucille Wilson Morrow.
Visitation will be open after 10 a.m. Sunday, August 4th at Reece Funeral Home with his family present to greet friends from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, August 4th at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Frazier officiating. His body will be cremated following the service.
Private inurnment will be in Shaul Cemetery at a later date.
