David Arnold Dodge, 61, of Oskaloosa, died August 8, 2024 at his home.
He was born December 19, 1962 in Ottumwa to Carol and Orpha Wheeldon Dodge.
A 1981 graduate of Ottumwa High School, David earned a criminal justice degree from Indian Hills Community College. He served in the U.S. Army and was a police officer in Fort Worth, TX and an investigator for the Attorney General’s office in Austin, TX. Most recently, he worked for Clow Valve in Oskaloosa.
David was good at fixing and repairing things. He enjoyed working and spending time with his family. He was very caring and giving and always put everyone else first.
Surviving is his son, Chris Dodge of Fairview, TX; daughter, Ashley Dodge of Irving, TX; his mother, Orpha Dodge of Ottumwa; and brother, Jim Dodge of Moravia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carol Dodge; daughter, Rachel Dodge; and sister, Ruth Bitner.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 15th at Reece Funeral Home with Chaplain Doug McAntire officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B.Schafer Post #775 and O.B. Nelson Post #3. .
The family will be present to greet friends one hour prior to the service Thursday.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
