Arlie Schneider, 68, of Oskaloosa, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa.

Arlie Dean Schneider, daughter of Willis and Mary (Tolls) Wells, was born November 12, 1955, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She grew up in What Cheer, Iowa, and attended Tri-County Schools. She later obtained her G.E.D. After her education, she was united in marriage to John Gabel, and three daughters were born into this union. They later divorced. Arlie was primarily a homemaker and raised her three daughters. After her children had grown up, Arlie began working in food services and housekeeping.

Arlie was united in marriage on October 13, 2013, to Roy Schneider. Arlie was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Oskaloosa. She was also an avid walker, as she never drove a car. Arlie was a genuinely loving person and will always be remembered as such. She was loved dearly by her family and church family.

Arlie’s family includes her husband Roy Schneider of Oskaloosa; three daughters, Tonya (Mike) DenHartog, Tina Allen, and Twyla Gabel, all of Oskaloosa; five grandchildren, Justin DenHartog, Aaron (Kayla) Den Hartog, Brandon DenHartog, Logan Allen, and Orion Allen, and a brother-in-law, Ernie (Janice) Gruwell of Aberdeen, MS.

Arlie was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Willis Wells, and two sisters, Pat Eash and Vickie Gruwell.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, August 18, 11:00 a.m., at Lighthouse Apostolic Church at 416 2nd Ave East, Oskaloosa, after Sunday church services, with Pastor Adrian Wolfe officiating. As was her wish, her body has been cremated. Memorials can be made in her name.
