Ottumwa, IA – River Valley Place Assisted Living & Memory Care is thrilled to announce a community initiative aimed at supporting the youth and families of Southeast Iowa.
On Thursday, August 15 from 5PM – 8PM, River Valley Place will provide free back-to-school sports physicals for middle school and high school athletes in the Ottumwa area.
The event, held at River Valley Place located at 173 E. Rochester Rd. welcomes all student-athletes on a walk-in basis. No appointments are necessary, ensuring easy access for everyone. Athletes are required to bring a completed Iowa High School sports physical form signed by a parent or guardian. Forms will also be available on-site in which a parent or guardian must be present to sign.
River Valley Place is partnering with two local medical offices to provide these essential physicals. Jenna Hunter, ARNP, of the Ottumwa Wound Clinic and Jacy Kennedy, ARNP, Clinic Manager of Bloom Pediatrics will be conducting the physicals. “I am excited to partner with River Valley Place with the opportunity to perform free sports physicals for this upcoming school year,” stated Jenna Hunter. Jacy Kennedy, who specializes in pediatrics also expressed her eagerness to contribute to this valuable community service.
“We are beyond thrilled to offer this service to the youth of our community,” said Emilee Morrow, Executive Director at River Valley Place.
“Our partnership with these two exceptional providers is so valuable in alleviating costs associated with getting sports physical screenings.”
By providing sports physicals at no charge, River Valley Place helps to alleviate financial burdens for families, ensuring all students have the opportunity to participate in school sports without the worry of that added cost.
