The Rotary Club of Pella is hosting a ribbon cutting and dedication of the new basketball and pickleball court at Rotary Park. The event is Saturday, June 22 at Rotary Park, East Third & Columbus Street, Pella from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event is open to the public and families are encouraged to attend.
The schedule of activities includes a presentation from 10:00 to 10:30 am that will include announcements of more planned improvements in the park.
Throughout the event, the Rotarians will be serving Pannenkoeken, coffee by Iris and bottled water and asking for a free-will donation to support future park improvement projects.
Attendees can also take part in a Pickleball Clinic presented by Pella Pickleball Club.
10:30 – 11:30 am Free course on how to play pickleball
11:30 – 12:00 pm Watch the 4.5+ play
12:00 – 1:00 pm Beat the Mayor at Pickleball
At 10:30 am attendees can join in a Big Barrel Home Run Derby on the ball field and at 1:00 pm there will be a basketball free throw contest.
