An Ottumwa man was arrested for allegedly escaping a residential facility earlier this week.

29-year-old Jacob Creamer was charged with escape from custody, a Class D felony.

Court records say Creamer left the Ottumwa Residential Facility grounds on Wednesday, June 12 without permission and did not return. As of this past February, Creamer was on a work release status after pleading guilty to second-degree theft in Louisa County and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent in Washington County.

A warrant for Creamer’s arrest was issued on June 12 and he was taken into custody the following day.

Creamer is currently lodged in the Wapello County Jail. His bond has been set at $5,000.
