Ottumwa, IA: Bridge View Center, Inc. Board of Directors, represented by Board President, Jamie Scott, and members Newell Palen and Dr. Eric Dodson, is pleased and proud to present a check to the City of Ottumwa in the amount of $130,000 to assist the City in supplementing the daily operations of Bridge View Center throughout fiscal year 2024.
With the presentation of this check, Bridge View Center has exceeded $1.8 million in supplementary assistance to the City of Ottumwa since March 2009. The exact total given to date since 2009 is $1,835,000. These funds come from the Bridge View Center, Inc. Endowment Trust fund. The Endowment Trust fund was established in 2005 to assist the City of Ottumwa in supporting the annual ongoing operations of Bridge View Center.
Bridge View Center Inc. raised $2.5 million for the construction of Bridge View Center in 2005-2006 and raised an additional $2 million for the Endowment Trust Fund. The total cost of Bridge View Center was $23 million, of which $7.5 million came from Vision Iowa, a grant program established by the State of Iowa, $2.5 million from Bridge View Center Inc., $12 million from the City of Ottumwa, $1 million from Wapello County, and the remainder from Ottumwa area businesses, residents, and others involved with this project.
