Vickie Louise Pilcher, 75, formerly of Eddyville, died at 11:46 a.m. May 22, 2024 at Serenity House Hospice in Oskaloosa.

She was born May 7, 1949 in Ottumwa to Murvin E. and Patricia A. McNeal Leach. Vickie married Leon R. Pilcher on September 23, 1967 and he preceded her in death on November 28, 2011.

A 1967 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Vickie worked as a cook at Eddyville Elementary and High School for 25 years. She retired in 2012.

Vickie was a member of Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, flowers and spending time with family especially her grandchildren. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley.

Surviving are her children, Misti (Kelly) Dawley of Montezuma, Lori Adamson of Eddyville and Jenni (Clint) Ver Steegh of Oskaloosa; 7 grandchildren, Brok (Kelley) Dawley, Madison (Clayton) Garden, Kaleb Adamson, Koby Adamson, Dane (Julie) Ver Steegh, Chloe Ver Steegh and Logan Ver Steegh; 5 great-great-grandchildren, Charles, Roslyn, James, Rori and Kinsley.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 28th at Reece Funeral Home. The family will be present to greet friends from noon until time of the service on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29th, at Reece Funeral Home with Mike Harmon officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Serenity House.
