A stabbing suspect was arrested in Fairfield after a standoff with authorities, according to the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office.
Law enforcement found two victims who were suffering from multiple stab wounds after receiving a call at 12:14 PM on Thursday. The victims were transported to the hospital and were released after being treated for minor injuries.
The suspect was identified as 35-year-old Zachary George Gory, who barricaded himself in a residence on the 200 block of East Jefferson, according to officials.
A press release states authorities forced entry into the home and apprehended Gory. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder (Class B felony), assault of a peace officer (aggravated misdemeanor), and interference with official acts (simple misdemeanor).
Gory was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and was subsequently taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
