An Ottumwa man faces charges after allegedly leading an officer on a chase for nearly four miles.
35-year-old Kasey Barker was charged with Eluding, his 2nd offense, and Driving while Barred.
On June 22, law enforcement initiated a traffic stop on Highway 34 and Iowa Avenue. Barker was driving a vehicle that allegedly had fraudulent license plates. Court records say Barker drove away and a chase ensued. After 3.7 miles, Barker pulled over and he was arrested.
According to court records, Barker had a valid arrest warrant and has been barred from driving since April 2022.
Barker was transported to the Wapello County Jail. He was released on his own recognizance.
