Milestones Area Agency on Aging along with community partners are sponsoring a free community Shred and Prescription Drug Take-Back event on Saturday, June 8, 2024. People can clean out their files and medicine cabinets and bring their outdated paperwork and
unneeded prescription drugs to the Quincy Place Mall parking located at 1110 Quincy Avenue, Ottumwa between 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Other community supporters are Community 1st Credit Union, Noel Insurance, Soth Ottumwa Savings Bank and South Side Drug. On-site shredding is provided by Shred-It Information Destruction. South Side Drug will be collecting unneeded prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Reduce your risk of identity theft by shredding your obsolete personal papers containing Social Security, Medicare, health insurance, credit card and banking identification numbers. Safely discarding of old prescription drugs, if they are no longer needed, will aid in the prevention of opioid addiction. Milestones will also be providing information regarding the Medicare Extra Help program. See you if you qualify and get help with paying Medicare premiums, prescription drugs and co-pays.
