Larry Lonell Grove was born on May 29, 1945, in Durant, Oklahoma. He graduated from Morton, TX before moving to Iowa. He served his country with pride and honor in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, exemplifying his unwavering sense of duty until his honorable discharge. After returning from the service, he found employment with the Rock Island Railroad in Eldon until its closure. He was united in marriage to Wilda M. Kempf, with whom he welcomed two beloved sons, Josh and Ben Grove. Although their paths later went separate ways, Larry’s commitment to his children never wavered.

Larry began working for Marvin Creech and then Hormell. Finally, he settled into a gratifying career with Rockwell, from where he would eventually retire. In his early years Larry loved the outdoors. He could often be found fishing or looking for mushrooms. As time passed, he loved to sit uptown and visit with anyone who would listen.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his children, Josh and Ben (Kim) Grove; grandchildren, Logan, Gavin, Mason Grove, and Andrew (Suzzie) Murphy; and a great-grandchild, Trey Murphy. His legacy is also celebrated by his siblings, Peg Bleything, Lynn (Bob) Dively, and Mike (Merry) Grove, along with a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Ellen Boettcher Grove, his sister Jean Huff, and brother-in-law Gary Bleything.
