A local Toastmasters club will be celebrating its 75th anniversary this weekend.
The Ottumwa Toastmasters #663 club was chartered with Toastmasters International in October 1948.
This Saturday, September 16th at 12:00 noon in the Iowa room of the Hotel Ottumwa the local Ottumwa Toastmasters will celebrate their 75th anniversary in advance. Past members are asked to attend and join in the reminiscing about being a part of Toastmasters over the years. Each can order and pay from the Hotel’s menu. A short program will follow with a local member speaking, as well as District Director Mathew Kanour. Ottumwa Toastmasters meet the 2nd and 4th Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the Ottumwa YMCA.
Its mission is to continue providing a mutually supportive and positive learning environment to individuals for well beyond its present 75 years. For more information about Toastmasters go to the International website www.toastmasters.org.
