Kenneth R. Cassatt, 95, of Ottumwa, died at 11:37 p.m., September 15, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.He was born September 4, 1928 in Wapello County to Lamar and Ruth Mae Barker Cassatt. He married Mildred Maxine Babb on August 21, 1948 and she preceded him in death on October 4, 2017.
A 1947 graduate of Ottumwa High School, Kenneth had worked 10 years with Wapello Dairy, 5 years for Orkin Exterminating and 16 years for Canteen Vending.
He enjoyed golfing, cooking and eating, and listening to old country music. Kenneth loved spending time with his family.
Surviving is a son, Kenneth (Mona) Cassatt of Milan, IL; 3 daughters, Wendy (Paul) Wallace of Cedar Falls, Sue (Larry) McClurg of Albuquerque, NM, Patty Voss of Ottumwa; 11 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Root of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Danny Lee Cassatt; a brother, Gerald Cassatt; a sister, Waunita Longerbeam; a son-in-law, Craig Voss.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, September 22nd, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greets friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, September 23rd at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
