A head-on collision on Friday night claimed the life of a Sigourney man in Keokuk County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a Chevy pickup driven by 31-year-old Samuel Derus of Prairie City was traveling westbound on Iowa 92 when it crossed the center line and struck an eastbound Chevy pickup driven by 74-year-old Franklin Morris.
Morris was pronounced dead at the scene.
Derus was seriously injured and airlifted to Iowa City. His current status is unknown.
The accident is still under investigation.
