Various officials in the Oskaloosa community will be holding a ribbon-cutting this weekend to celebrate the opening of a new facility at the Mahaska County YMCA.
The ribbon-cutting is set for Sunday at 1:00 PM to commemorate the completion of an 80,000-square-foot Health and Wellness Center and Early Childhood Center.
Leaders from the Mahaska County YMCA, the City of Oskaloosa, and the Oskaloosa Community School District will be present for the event. Guests will be treated to an open house, guided tours, food trucks, and inflatable games inside the air-conditioned gymnasium.

The Mahaska County YMCA is waiving its joiner fee for the entire month of August, making it even easier for residents to experience the benefits of the new facility in what the organization hopes is to further encourage community participation and wellness during the month.
