Indian Hills Community College (IHCC) will be closing its Child Development Center later this year, according to a news release.

The closure will occur on October 27. IHCC will offer four and five-year-old preschool during the upcoming school year.

A steady decrease in enrollments, challenges attracting and retaining qualified staff for the Center, a continued rise in operational costs, and loss of revenue were the reasons cited for the closing of the Child Development Center.

“This was not a decision we arrived at easily and we know this will impact families within our community. After reviewing fiscal year-end data and enrollment trends, it was evident that the Center is no longer sustainable for Indian Hills to operate. We have met with Center staff and communicated these changes to Center families via electronic and print communication. We know the Center has provided excellent childcare for families in our community for many years and we are disappointed we have reached this point.” Dr. Matt Thompson, IHCC President

Indian Hill’s Child Development Center serves children from newborns to 3 years of age.
