Authorities are asking for the public’s help regarding the Friday night shooting death of a southeast Iowa man.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says it received a 911 call at 9:38 PM that reported a disturbance and shooting at the 400 block of A Street South in Albia.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found 49-year-old Danield Gundrum suffering from a gunshot wound. Gundrum later died from his injuries.
Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Albia Police Department are investigating this death as a homicide.
Officials say an autopsy will be performed by the Office of the State Medical Examiner to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
