Second Man Arrested in Alleged Statue Attack

A second Ottumwa man was arrested stemming from a Sunday incident that resulted in a victim suffering serious injuries.

28-year-old K-Last Paulis has been charged with willful injury, a Class D felony.

According to court records, in the early morning hours of May 7, Paulis punched and kicked a victim while working in concert with others. Additionally, Paulis is accused of striking the victim in the face with a statue multiple times.

Paulis is currently in the Wapello County Jail. His bail has been set at $5,000.

Paulis’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 15. His co-defendant, Tosan Santier, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 12.
