A suspect in a shooting in Oskaloosa was apprehended by law enforcement Thursday morning, according to authorities.

The Oskaloosa Police Department responded to 709 D Avenue West on the night of April 4 and found an adult male with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a hospital in Des Moines where his condition is unknown.

A joint investigation by the police department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation revealed 22-year-old Gavin Jones as a suspect in the shooting. Jones was wanted on a charge of willful injury causing serious injury in connection with the shooting. Officials suspect Jones fled the scene of the incident and was considered armed and dangerous.

DCI says Jones was taken into custody in Missouri. Authorities say there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
