An accused southeast Iowa man faces another charge after authorities say he participated in explicit conversations with a minor.

26-year-old Joseph Reynolds of Mount Pleasant has been charged with enticing a minor, a Class D felony.

Police say in January, Reynolds sent an illicit video of himself to a 14-year-old girl via Facebook. Reynolds allegedly engaged in conversations centering around sex acts he would like to do with the child.

According to court records, Reynolds sent several messages that sexualized the victim. Additionally, Reynolds offered money and a phone in exchange for sex. Reynolds was allegedly aware he was conversing with a minor.

A warrant for Reynold’s arrest was issued on March 29 and he was taken into custody on April 10. He is currently being held at the Wapello County Jail on a $5,000 bond.

Reynolds was previously arrested on January 18 and charged with eluding, enticing a minor under 16, drug distribution to a person under 18, and possession of a controlled substance – second violation. He’s accused of messaging a 13-year-old girl on Facebook, sending illicit images, meeting up with the victim, and smoking marijuana with her.

A jury trial for the January 18 charges has been scheduled for May 2.
