Fonda Brodsack, 90, of Oskaloosa, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023, at Crystal Heights Care Center.
Fonda L. Brodsack, daughter of Harold and Daisy Huddleson, was born in Osceola, Iowa, on December 11, 1932. She attended Osceola High School. Fonda married the love of her life, Robert L Brodsack, on December 11, 1949, at the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa. She graduated from Ottumwa Beauty Academy in 1960 and soon after opened Fonda’s Beauty Salon in 1962. She retired in 2008. Fonda was an avid golfer and enjoyed walking daily with her next-door neighbor Kathy Sartin. She was the past president of the Democratic party in Mahaska County in 1976 and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Fonda’s family includes her nieces and nephews: Dick Bassett of Turo, Iowa; Rodney Bassett of Osceola, Iowa; Fonda Isenberger of Springfield, Missouri; Terry Huddleson, Mike Huddleson, Dan Huddleson all of Des Moines, Iowa; Vicky Perdue of Ottumwa, Iowa; Dana Brodsack and Marla Poosh both of Osceola, Iowa; Dixie Beeman of Kansas City, Missouri; and Marcena Carter of St. Joesph, Missouri.
Fonda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, in 1996; her brothers: Bill and Bob Huddleson; her sisters: Norma Bassett and Shirley Conley; her nephew, Stephen Conley; and her niece, Cindy Kunzendorf.
As per her wishes, Fonda’s body has been cremated. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m., Monday, January 23, 2023, at Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, with Pastor Molly Goodrich of the First Christian Church officiating. Langkamp Funeral Chapel & Crematory has been entrusted with her arrangements. Memorial contributions can be sent to Stephens Memorial Animal Shelter.
