An Ottumwa man faces multiple charges after police say he broke into an apartment, tackled one occupant, and threatened another with a knife.
20-year-old Jose Rosalio Hernandez has been charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree burglary, and two counts of violation of a no-contact order.
According to court documents, at approximately 10:06 AM on Wednesday, Hernandez kicked in the door to an apartment on College Street.
A female in the apartment, who has a no-contact order against Hernandez, armed herself with a knife but was disarmed by Hernandez. Hernandez later made threats toward the victim while holding the knife, according to police.
Additionally, Hernandez allegedly tackled a male in the apartment and attempted to assault him.
Hernandez was arrested later the same day and transported to the Wapello County Jail. His bail has been set at $37,000.
How can you put alleged if they done it then it not alleged.
