Diane Whitlatch, 62, of Beacon, died Friday, November 11, 2022, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was born December 5, 1959, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Larry and Nancy Morgan Richardson. She graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1977. On May 18, 1978, she was united in marriage to Tracey Hole. To this union four children were born Tabitha, Shannon, Tracey, and Gillian. Diane and Tracey later divorced. On August 5, 1994, she was united in marriage to Aron Whitlatch in Beacon.
Diane worked as a nurse’s aide at various care facilities. She later worked in telemarketing in Oskaloosa for many years. Diane went on to work various places in Oskaloosa and Pella including, Pella Plastics, Vermeer, VanGorp’s and a variety of restaurants. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She always looked forward to getting out in her garden and working with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed motorcycle rides with Aron. She delighted in spending time with her family.
Her family includes her husband of over 28 years, Aron Whitlatch of Beacon; four children, Tabitha Hole of Oskaloosa, Shannon Goodwin of Oskaloosa, Tracey (Megan) Hole of Ottumwa, and Gillian Hole of Ottumwa; thirteen grandchildren, Sariyah Clayton, Izaiah Foster, Reece Goodwin, Jaysa Goodwin, Treyton Hole, Drayson Hole, Kayleigh Hole, Briar Lettington, Hadley Lettington, Zaydon Hole, Jaemon Hole, Bentley Miller, and Lexica Miller; her mother and step father, Nancy (Jerry) Fischer of Hutchinson, Minnesota; two brothers, Mike (Gina) Richardson of Washington, Iowa, Dennis (Anna) Richardson of Washington, Iowa; three sisters, Debbie Prior of St. Petersburg, Florida, Tammy Richardson of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Teresa Woube of St. Petersburg, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Larry Richardson.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Michael Dotson officiating. As was Diane’s wish her body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
