An Ottumwa man faces a pair of felony charges after police say he exposed his child to a danger that resulted in her injury.
26-year-old Thomas Prickett has been charged with neglect or abandonment of a dependent person, a Class C felony, and child endangerment, a Class D felony.
According to court records, on December 19th of last year, Prickett recklessly exposed his two-year-old daughter to a hazard in which she could not reasonably protect herself. The child suffered a bodily injury as a result of Prickett’s actions.
Ottumwa police say Prickett’s actions were sexually motivated.
A warrant for Prickett’s arrest was issued on October 16th and he was taken into custody on October 18th.
Prickett is currently in the Wapello County Jail where he is being held without bond pending a hearing from a magistrate judge.
