Ottumwa police say a Fairfield man with prior theft convictions stole a debit card and used it to withdraw money and buy items.
26-year-old Jedakyah Ponce has been charged with third-degree theft and five counts of unauthorized use of credit card, all aggravated misdemeanors.
According to court records, during the evening hours of April 29th, Ponce used a stolen debit card to make several unauthorized purchases and withdrawals at Wallgreen’s and the ATM at Wells Fargo Bank. The total amount stolen turned out to be $379.50.
Ponce has two prior theft convicitons in 2015 and 2018.
Ponce was arrested on September 19th and transported to the Wapello County Jail. His bond has been set at $3,000.
Ponce entered a plea of not guilty during his initial court appearance on September 20th.
