Jane (Stufflebeam) Meagher, age 70, of Centerville, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at MercyOne Medical Center in Centerville in the company of her family.
Jane was born in January, 1952 in Centerville, Iowa to Earnie Stufflebeam and Marie (Carr) Stufflebeam. She was the 4th of 5 siblings and graduated from Moravia High School in 1970. Continuing her education, she earned her AA from Indian Hills Community College in 1972, her LPN in 1976, and her RN in 1978. Janes nearly 35-year nursing career was spent primarily in geriatric facilities including Golden Age Care Center (Centerville) and Davis County Hospital (Bloomfield), until she retired.
In 1979, Jane married Fla Meagher Jr., and together they welcomed and raised their daughter, Kelly.
Jane greatly enjoyed travel. This interest saw her vacationing in the Bahamas, extensively traveling the southwestern U.S. to explore sites including Mesa Verde, Four Corners, Monument Valley, and even ghost hunting at Missouri State Penitentiary and the Villisca Axe Murder House. Additionally, she enjoyed reading, antiquing, trying new recipies, yard sales and music.
Jane is survived by her husband of 43 years, Fla; their daughter, Kelly Manning (Wallace Manning); her siblings, Joe Stufflebeam (Mary Lynn), Jim Stufflebeam (Martha), Jean Smothers, and Judi Millemon (Ralph).
Jane was preceded in death by her parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7PM, Friday, June 24, 2022 at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville.
