Lucas Michael Klyn; a beloved grandson, son and brother passed away on October 15, 2026. Born on September 4, 1978, to Sandra Peters Klyn and Vincent Klyn, both of Pella. Lucas spent the majority of his youth growing up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Luke attended Linn Marr High School where he played football and baseball and graduated in 1998. He then went on to attend college at Simpson College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education.
Luke’s love of sports took him all over the Midwest through travel baseball. You could often find him on a field somewhere or cheering on the Yankees at home. Luke held various jobs during his time in the Cedar Rapids and St. Louis areas. When he wasn’t at work you could often find him collecting baseball cards and sports memorabilia or taking care of his dogs. His love of animals shined through every aspect of his life. He never met an animal he didn’t love.
Luke is survived by his father, Vince Klyn (Vicki), his sister Bailey Lee (Garry and two daughters Sydney and Harper), his brother Nathan (Olivia and son Leo) and a host of Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother Sandra Peters Klyn, Maternal Grandparents Bill and Uella Petters, and paternal Grandparents Andrew and Charlotte Klyn.
