The Vintage Cruisers and Wapello County Car Guys brought the community together Saturday, October 10, for their second annual Veterans Appreciation Car Show in Ottumwa.
The event was held in the parking lot behind AutoZone on North Quincy Avenue, where car enthusiasts and community members gathered to enjoy a variety of classic cars, trucks and custom vehicles while honoring the men and women who have served in the United States military.
The event featured vehicle registration, judging, awards, food vendors and a silent auction. Participants competed for Top 10 awards, along with the Best of Show award. Registration was held from 9 to 11 a.m., with judging taking place from 10 a.m. until noon and awards scheduled for 2 p.m.
A special part of the event was the planned free lunch for the first 60 veterans, sponsored by Greg Young Toyota of Ottumwa.
The car show offered more than an opportunity to admire classic vehicles. It also provided a chance for the community to come together, show appreciation for local veterans and support an event centered on recognizing their service and sacrifice.
The Vintage Cruisers and Wapello County Car Guys have also emphasized their commitment to giving back to the community, with money raised throughout the year from car shows and special events donated back to local causes.
The organizers thanked everyone who attended, participated, volunteered and helped make the Veterans Appreciation Car Show possible.
