A Newton woman is the latest resident to claim a top prize from an Iowa Lottery scratch game, marking the second time in one week that someone from the community has taken home a top prize.
Dakota Stuhr won $20,000 on the Iowa Lottery’s $100 Stacked scratch game. She claimed her winnings Tuesday at the Iowa Lottery’s main office in Clive.
Stuhr purchased her winning ticket at the Kwik Star on First Avenue East in Newton. The $100 Stacked game offers prizes ranging from $2 to $20,000.
Her win comes just days after Newton resident Michael Stockwell claimed a top prize in the Iowa Lottery’s $50,000 Super Crossword scratch game. Stockwell and his wife, Pamela, purchased their winning ticket at the Casey’s store located just north of Interstate 80 Exit 168. He claimed the prize on September 8.
